.Cloud dedicates 1st year in business to Partners

Since its launch, the Registry has focused on helping businesses bring their innovation to life with modern online identities. The approach has been widely successful for the new TLD, securing 30,000 registrations in its first week.

Today, the Registry approaches 100,000 domains across 150 countries, in part thanks to its partner network of over 90 registrars and resellers worldwide.

dotcloud_website-(1).jpgMou Mukherjee, Director of Marketing at .Cloud said, “At .Cloud, it has always been a priority to develop strong partnerships, from registrar partners to advocates like our pioneers. We’re proud to see strong numbers in our first year. We’re thrilled to see all the creative ways .cloud will be used in 2017 and beyond.”

The domain built momentum early on after pioneers like FoodCloud moved its online presence to Food.cloud.

Iseult Ward, CEO and Co-founder of FoodCloud said, “Our website is an important portal for communicating with stakeholders from businesses, to charities to the general public interested in learning more about FoodCloud and reducing wasted food. Food.cloud is a great fit for us as we need a domain name that reflects our international expansion and innovative technology.”

Since then, the company has attracted interest from businesses across a variety, such as Samsung’s IoT platform Artik.cloud, Reward.cloud (digital gift certificates platform), and Massage.cloud (therapist connection network).

As people become more aware of the choices available in the domain market today, more companies will look to build awareness around their brand through modern business choices like adopting a .cloud domain. Some partners are helping in creative ways, such as popular registrar Gandi’s design of a limited edition .Cloud t-shirt to the first 200 customers that purchase a .cloud domain in February.

Having a custom designed t-shirt for this unique campaign is a great way to celebrate .Cloud’s first anniversary.” said Gandi Head of Marcom Sophie Gironi

Next Stop: Asia

As demand for the domain continues to rise, the Registry is focusing on developing its Asia footprint in the coming months.

The Registry is proud to announce it’s partnering with Japan’s leading domain and hosting provider GMO Internet to make the domain available in the country starting Feb. 17.

Yutaka Kirihara, Marketing Director of GMO said “.Cloud is one of the more popular extensions launched in the last couple of years. We are excited to bring this modern domain to the Japanese market. It will be a great fit for our customers in the technology and cloud space who are looking to highlight their innovations.

The coming weeks will also see the launch of Asia.cloud, a new cloud provider based in Hong-Kong targeting the booming Asian startup scene and growing needs of IT departments.
